Openings

We are always on the look out for motivated, smart individuals to join our research group. Based on your academic standing, please refer to the following notes about the current openings in the group.

Post-doctoral Fellows:

No openings currently. Please check back later. If you are applying or have support from any competitive postdoc fellowships, please contact the PI with your CV.

Ph.D Students:

We are always looking for graduate students. Students with background in Materials Science, Physics, Applied Physics, Electrical Engineering, Chemistry and Chemical Engineering are appropriate for our research program. Interested students are requested to apply to the Materials Science Ph.D. program at Viterbi School of Engineering. Please email the PI for further information on the research projects. The students are also directed to apply for the external fellowships listed below, if you quality (please check if these fellowships are still active):

1. Fellowships through Roberto Rocca Education Program

2. NSF Graduate Fellowship

3. NDSEG Graduate Fellowship

MS Students:

We have limited openings for Masters students to work on directed research. Students should be willing to commit for one year to work on research projects. It is expected that such students have completed graduate level coursework such as Solid State Physics, Thermodynamics and Kinetics, etc.

Undergraduate Students:

We have multiple openings for undergraduate students to gain exposure to research. Typically, students in their junior and senior years with background in Materials Science, Physics, Chemistry, Electrical Engineering, Applied Physics and Chemical Engineering are appropriate for our research program. Please email the PI for further information on the research projects. There are some support available for USC undergraduates to gain research experience in USC. Please check with your advisors.

Students from universities outside USC have a few options to support their undergraduate research projects in our research lab. Typically, these appointments tend to be for the summer only. Invariably, I may not have any say in the selection of students to these programs. Some of the useful programs include:

1. SURE program for domestic students

2. SURE program for international students
